Sandhya Simhan

Chief of Staff, Workday

Errol was my career center counselor from January 2010, when I approached him as an overwhelmed student switching careers, to December 2010 when I found a full-time job as a senior. His dedication to helping me transition my way from college to 'the real world' has proven life changing. As a WSJ student blogger (a position his advice helped me obtain), I actually wrote a more detailed piece on Errol and his helpfulness: http://blogs.wsj.com/hire-education/2011/01/14/ode-to-errol-career-center-counselor/

Anna Taul

Director Of Admissions at Cathedral High School

Errol was an instant mentor and friend as I began my admissions career. Always the consummate professional, he was a leader among our group of traveling counselors and someone I could trust to seek advice from. Errol has the ability to blend seamlessly from a deep conversation to making someone feel appreciated and welcome, despite their background or educational level. There is no telling the impact his work has made as he has mentored students and supported prospective families. I am grateful to know him and to learn from him!

As director of undergraduate admissions at IUPUI, Errol was a rising star among his peers. His dedication for our students is matched only by his expertise and professionalism shared among our faculty.

Errol always displayed great enthusiasm, clarity, and skill when providing faculty with vital information about our students and campus enrollment in general. Given his leadership potential, I was proud to nominate him for participation in the 2022 cohort of the American Association for Blacks in Higher Education's (AABHE) Leadership and Mentoring Institute.

I believe that experience afforded Errol the opportunity to hone his skills, deepen his knowledge base, and foster a strong developmental network. He is prepared and poised to assume even greater leadership responsibilities at this moment. He would be an asset to any organization, and I look forward to following his upward trajectory.

Alyssa Luna

Senior Assistant Director of Recruitment
Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis

I had the pleasure of working under Errol's leadership in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for the length of his tenure at IUPUI. It was through Errol's leadership and mentorship that I was able to grow as a higher education professional and explore my own strengths and skills in enrollment management.

Errol is an exceptional leader and collaborator who is truly passionate about uplifting his team and colleagues. He has a strategic, ideation mindset that elevates the work around him. One of Errol's best qualities is his intentionality and passion for advocating for marginalized and underrepresented voices. He is skilled in engaging partners and colleagues in difficult, complex conversations with kindness, respect, and sincerity.

I will miss working under Errol's leadership as Director of Admissions at IUPUI and know that he will be a pillar of empathy, strategy, and collaboration in his next career chapter.

Julie Landaw

Director of Community College Partnership Development
Purdue University Global

As Errol’s Director colleague for more than two years and a friendship that has extended beyond this time, I continue to be impressed by Errol’s leadership in enrollment management strategy especially during challenging times. His impressive leadership and contributions during the pandemic and continuous strategy realignment enabled top-notch success for the IUPUI campus community. We worked on many projects over the years and he was strategic to encourage a strong transfer pipeline. He sought the expertise of others in the campus community, despite their titles, to facilitate improved outcomes and improvements. He is always transparent to ensure success in moving initiatives and relationships forward. In addition to Errol’s skills in thinking outside of the box for enrollment and admissions initiatives, he truly cares about people and relationships. He is someone who takes the time to check in with colleagues and those around him which is a vital, strong, and positive characteristic in a leader. He will take a creative, strategic, positive, caring, and insightful approach with any organization, and I recommend him for strategic opportunities. Julie Landaw, M.Ed.

Dr. Kenneth Carow

Professor of Finance at Indiana University Kelley School of Business Indianapolis

Errol Wint has been a leader in our enrollment management office. During this time, I served as the Executive Associate Dean for the Kelley School of Business. His leadership especially became noticeable during the pandemic as he lead a campus enrollment planning exercise where he worked with over 200 faculty and staff, worked with the enrollment management team on presentation of data, and then presented this material to the dean’s council. He created a plan that included goals and output metrics to be able to evaluate the success of the programs. Each of the deans asked many questions about the data and the enrollment plans. He answered the questions superbly and received the support of the deans and their schools for the proposed plan. During this time period, the Kelley School of Business direct admit enrollments continued to grow increasing the quantity, quality, and diversity of the Kelley School. Errol Wint is a great collaborator, innovator, and leader. I look forward to the meetings with Errol and the positive spirit he brings to each endeavor. I enthusiastically recommend Errol Wint.

Bobby Bell

Assistant Director for Marketing & Decision Support at IUPUI

In my roughly 5 years of working with him, Errol has shown himself to be a collaborative and innovative partner throughout all phases of the admissions cycle. As a marketing and communications professional, I've always been impressed with Errol's ideator skills, whether for a single Marcom initiative or a campus-wide campaign to grow our enrollment through yield endeavors. Most recently, Errol played a critical role as a leader in streamlining enrollment activities across IUPUI. He did this using the foundations of "essentialism" - highlighting the value of "less is more" to a very large and complex recruitment organization across campus. The results of this initiative paid off when the fall semester began, resulting in an increase in several key metrics post-census.

Lori Hart

Admissions and Outreach Counselor, IU School of Medicine

I had the pleasure of working with Errol in my position as the Associate Director of Undergraduate Enrollment, IUPUI School of Science. He is an approachable and conscientious leader who always has the time to answer questions and listen to and appropriately act on concerns. Strategic enrollment planning can be a slippery slope when working with 17 different programs of all sizes on campus. I found Errol to be a leader in integrating the different needs and expectations of all of the schools on campus into a cohesive, deliberate and collaborative enrollment strategy for the university, especially during times of uncertainty in higher education.

Dr. OJ Oleka

Candidate for Kentucky State Treasurer

Errol was Program Coordinator when I was involved in the Society of Porter Scholars, and I became coordinator the year after him. Errol was a great motivator to the group, successfully planning events and keeping others on task. He developed a great relationship with other leaders and administrators at the University of Louisville while he was here.

Errol is a great motivator, a strong leader and an excellent task master. He also is a good mentor to other members of his team, and does much more than asked. He is a good and hard worker.

Dr. Chad Whistle

Sr. Director of Academic Projects
University of Maryland Global Projects

Errol was a very motivated and hard working member of our orientation team. He was consistently trying to improve his methods of leadership, both with the students he impacted and worked with, as well as other members of our team.

Errol had strong interpersonal skills and was able to connect with students, parents, staff members of the University of Louisville and fellow orientation leaders. When we presented information to incoming students together, Errol was always very personable and relatable, while always remaining professional. He excels in communicating with others and sharing his knowledge and experiences with students. It was a pleasure working with Errol.

I am pleased to write this recommendation for Errol Wint. I have had the pleasure to work with Errol over the last several years as a member of his counselor advisory board at IUPUI. In my 33 years in education, this was one of the most meaningful advisory roles that I have experienced. It was a true advisory role and Errol and his team listened and asked questions.

Errol always put communication first. Whether it was a useful newsletter or a video initiative during the pandemic to let counselors know how much they were appreciated, he always focused on listening to needs and taking action. He considered school counselors an extension of his office and always looked for ways to improve access for students. In my 33 years in higher education and school counseling, I have made a lot of connections in the admission profession. Errol would be a colleague that I would consider one of my "go-to" professionals in the industry. Partnerships are an important part of our work and he is a great partner for the high school side and a champion for students. He has the ability to reach enrollment goals while helping students find their right fit. I am pleased to write this recommendation for Errol Wint.
